New set of wheels

Can you guess who got a new set of wheels?  Tonight Jeremy and I pushed Meredith in the stroller around the neighborhood while our "big boy" Anthony rode his new bike.  Anthony is excellent at steering, but is still learning how to control his speed.... which is the reason why next time I will run along side him and leave J and Mer at home.  ;)

Hotdogs, hamburgers, pizza and MORE!!!

If you are looking to be fed, come to my house!  The kids now have a play kitchen and have been cooking up a storm.... everything from popcorn to stew to eggplant!  And let me tell you... it's yummy!  ;)
Special thanks to the Maxey girls (and their parents) for giving us this kitchen that they no longer were using.  WE LOVE IT!!!!

Sprinkler Fun

Yesterday was so blazing hot that we just HAD to have a sno-cone (or sno-ball as they are referred to where J and I grew up).  You can tell by the pictures that the kids enjoyed it.  After Miss Priss sucessfully dumped half of her brother's on the ground, J decided to pull out the sprinkler for a little fun.  It was a great way to cool off after such a hot day!

Alexandria Zoo

So I mentioned in the last post that the kids and I have been to the zoo.  Usually I forget to bring a camera along, but this time I remembered.  :)
Watching the flamingos and ducks.  There was a tiny duckling about the size of a tennis ball that the kids loved!
Playing in the Jeep
Watching the lions - They were actually out of their "cave" for once!
Feeding the fish... one of their favorite things to do at the zoo.
Riding the train, which is of course the ONLY reason we go to the zoo.  ;)
My kids walking hand in hand.   Pure sweetness!

Sleeping on a board & Prissy in heels

Ever wake up feeling like you slept on a board?  Well, here's proof Anthony does it all the time.  I can't seem to get him to understand that his bed is for sleeping, but apparently he finds the hardwood floor very comfortable.  Maybe one day he will grow out of this!
Earlier today Miss Priss disappeared so I went in search throughout the house for her.  I'm looking in her brother's room when I hear the heel of a shoe tap, tap, tap across the floor.  I guess she likes red shoes as much as her momma!

Update

I know it has been a long time since our last blog, but things have been a little crazy around here. Between a stomach virus hitting Jeremy and me, a kids production camp going on at church, and daily life issues, we have been super busy!

So, what exactly is new? My new washer and dryer... that's what!!!! I know, I know. Jeremy said I can't stop talking about it, but I am super spoiled now with my new set. Did you know that dryers now come with a light in the drum? And that washers and dryers make a beeping sound to let you know they are done? Aah, technology has advanced so much since my old washer and dryer were made. To say the least, it's a joy to do laundry now!

Okay, enough about that. We've recently had our landscaping tweaked in our front yard. Before, we had lots of overgrown shrubs, which I am not a huge fan of. Now we have tons of color.... well, at least pink (my favorite color). Hopefully, I can post a picture of the front yard sometime tomorrow. It's still a work in progress, but this is what we have thus far. We're planning to get rid of the holly tree near the center of the photo and add shrubs in it's place as well as a few other places.  Our side flower bed hopefully will be picture worthy next week..

Before
After:

As for the kids, they have been living it up until Anthony's preschool starts in September.  Trips to the zoo, park, and mall have filled our days.  Jeremy's been extremely busy lately with a kids production camp going on this week, but he did find time to squeeze in a little golf.

On a sadder note, Jeremy lost a dear friend this past week.  Bobby Clyde Brinson, a surrogate father/grandfather passed away at the age of 74.  Jeremy told me stories of how he and his wife, JoAnn, fed him, clothed him, and housed him when Jeremy was the Music Minister at the Brinson's church in Hodge, Louisiana.  Jeremy will treasure his memories of and time with Bobby Clyde forever.

Weekend fun

Well, the weekend came and went all to fast.  We spent a lot of time at home playing with the kids and relaxing.... that is until my washing machine decided to spring a leak!  Thankfully, we caught it in time so it only did minor damage.  I'm praying the repairman comes tomorrow to fix it, or better yet deem it unfixable so I can get a new washer.  We will just have to see, but being without a washing machine is hard, especially when I am used to doing at least one load a day!
Back to our weekend...  Anthony was a little bored, so he and I decided to bake a cake.  You can see below that not only did he help work the mixer, he was also my taste tester!
As for Meredith, she spent a lot of her free time in her new rocking chair (or at least new to her).  Thanks mom for parting with it!  Oh, side note for Aunt Beverly.... recognize the end table in the background?  :)
