NOLA bound!

Family vacation time!  This year we decided to take the kids to New Orleans since they have never been.  We visited the Insectarium, the Audubon Zoo and the Aquarium.  Except for the 110 degree heat, the trip was a great success!  Lots of good food, great attractions/entertainment and quality family time.  Couldn't ask for better!

Future Firefighters

What do you do on a lazy day during the summer?  Go tour a fire house!  Here's a snapshot of our fun day!

My future firefighter!

Listening to the fire engine's horn.  A little loud, but no one got scared...thankfully!
Our friends in the picture are the Beall's!

After the tour, the kids had fun in the swing!  Who knew this would be one of the best parts of the tour? :)

Soccer Camp

So, some bright person in our family decided that it might be nice if Anthony went to soccer camp.  I'll admit... it was me.  And it's wasn't exactly a bright idea.  Granted, Anthony learned how to dribble the ball and to hop with it between his feet and knees, but other than that, it was just okay.

The first day Anthony came home saying, "Soccer is boring."  By the end of the week, he was enjoying spending time with his buddies while kicking the ball around.  All in all, I think this will be our last sports camp for a while... or at least until he really expresses interest in a particular sport.  Here's a few shots of the week!

Learning to pass the ball between his legs

Hopping!  One of Anthony's favorite soccer skills!

His next favorite skill....walking/hopping with the ball between the knees.

Look at me Mom!!!

A tasty treat after camp.

The entire crew!

Hiking up the "Mountain"

Thursday morning my sweet hubby planned a great activity for the family.... hiking in the Kisatchie National Forest.  Yes, I know what you're thinking..... my husband????  He really made an effort to think out of the box.  He told Anthony we were going to see a mountain, which definitely made it exciting for him.  We had a fantastic time walking through the woods looking for sticks and throwing rocks in the water.  I'm so glad we did it and am really looking forward to going again!

My guys checking out the view.

Miss Priss and J

Miss Priss had to hike all by herself....  that was until she got tired of walking and wanted to ride on her daddy's shoulders. :)

J and Anthony waiting on the slow-pokes....Meredith and me! By the way, check out Anthony's walking stick!

My awesome hubby!

Looking for anything they could find to throw in the water.

Meredith found a piece of wood....

Anthony found a huge rock....

Resting after the hike

Family picture time!

Easter Sunday

Since it's impossible to take a great picture of the family on Easter Sunday morning, this is the best that I could do.  At least the kids didn't fight me too much! :)

An Easter Bunny Surprise

The Easter Bunny made a surprise appearance at Anthony's preschool Easter party.  You'll never guess who was the lucky one to dress in the bunny suit!

St. Jude Trike-A-Thon

The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon was certainly an experience for Anthony's preschool class.  He basically tried to race with one of his friends while weaving through the rest of his friends so he could show off his excellent bike riding skills.  :)  Gotta love it!

Kids Under Construction

Anthony has officially begun his singing career!  He was in his first official Spring Show at his preschool.  He sang his heart out and performed beautifully with the other children.  I was so proud!
