Looking for Girls

While playing with the kids this morning, Anthony told me he needed to go for a ride in the car to look for some girls.  I couldn't believe my ears, so I had him repeat it!  I asked what he was going to do when he saw the girls and he said  "pick them up and give them hugs".  My son is already a wolf on the prowl!  Look out ladies!

Party time with family

We have had one exciting week!  While Jeremy was away with the youth choir at SonPower in Orlando, the kids and I headed to Zachary to visit grandparents.  The first few days I enjoyed a little "me" time while Anthony and Meredith stayed with Jeremy's parents.  It was great to have a break!  The rest of the week, they stayed with me and my parents. 
During the visit, my cousin's son had a birthday pool party.  See the pics below for all the fun!

I ♥ Garage Sales

I was out for my morning run and came upon a neighbor's garage sale.  Being nosey, I tried to look at all they had without stopping.  I saw they had tons of toys, clothes, and other stuff, so I knew I would have to return.  On my way back around the block, I stopped in and bought Meredith a few things as well as a Thomas the train set for Anthony.  I spent $10 on everything, but the $3 I spent on the train set was the best purchase of all!  He has played with no other toys today.  I love garage sales!

Our new kitchen table has become the center of a new game the kids love to play.... hide and seek!  Anthony asks for a tent everyday.

Life on a Ranch

So what's life like on a dude ranch?  It's filled with pony rides, fun horse/cowboy crafts, Bible stories, and lots of singing and dancing.  Well, at least OUR dude ranch has all of this during Vacation Bible School at church.  :)

Jeremy participated in the opening session each morning as a member of the "Saddle Ridge Ranch Singers" that led the kids in singing and choreography (a.k.a. dancing).  He's got the moves!  Here's a picture of my hubby in action!

As for Anthony, each day we would ask him what he learned at Bible school.  Usually the answer was about snack time, playing with friends, or making a craft.  I think he actually remembered two of the five Bible stories.  At least he remembered those!  Anthony also got to ride a cart that was pulled by a miniature horse.  He loved it! 

Meredith and I were involved in VBS as well.  I taught 3-year-olds while Meredith was loved on by our childcare workers... or maybe spoiled is more like it :)

In the end, all of the kids raised over $4000 to build a home for a family in Guatemala.  This was the goal of the week and they certainly achieved it!  I heard that some students also accepted Christ, but I'm not sure how many.  All in all it was a wonderful week filled with sharing God's word with others.  I'm glad it's over and I can't wait until next year!

Ready for Take-off

Well, I know this blog is supposed to be about us as a family, but I noticed I have yet to write about myself... until now.  I finally experienced something that will most certainly make it to my top 5 most embarrassing moments.  Here's what happened....  I was leaving Sunday School all dressed in my pretty black dress and dazzling red heels (my favorite shoes) and headed down the stairs to pick up Anthony.  We were supposed to attend the 11am service to see Jeremy sing on the praise team then pick up Meredith and head home.  In my haste to get a "good seat" in church, I took flight on the way down the stairs, missing about 5 of them before coming to a halt on the landing.  I picked myself up, continued down the rest of the stairs, and hurried off to the bathroom to inspect the damage.  Luckily, not many people were out of Sunday school, so only a few (15 or so people) actually saw me.  Hey, it could have been the entire youth group if timed just right!  A skinned knee and bum toe, including a really sore body were the result of the fall.  I realized that my body, in particular my legs, hurt so much from squeezing them together the entire way down so no one could get a peek up my dress.  I don't know if I was successful, but I sure tried!  To say the least, I will not be wearing my favorite heels anytime soon... or walking down that set of stairs anytime soon.
